Welcome to the THREE.8.WERKS Forum. Login to access the message boards.

The 6th Annual eurothon is behind us. This event is all about a good time, seeing friends that you haven't seen since last season and catching up. There were the usual People's Choice Awards and the Dr. Ferdinand Porsche PROPER Award going to "Cosmic Bunny" Ivan.
Empire City Raceway and Casino played host to some of the sickest euros from the area and beyond. We're already lined up for 2010. Hope to see you there!

The Product
Image

Here We Go- Front Right & Left

Image
(1)- We needed to get base measurements on flat level ground. Base measurement should start from the center of the rim/ hub to the beginning of the fender.

Image
As you could see for an example our car stand at about 37cm .

Image
(2)- At this point basic knowledge hit. You will need to loose the bolt on the rim, jack the car up and remove the wheel

Image
(3)As you can see we decided to jack the car up from the sub frame, so not to bend tab on side of car. After this it would be smart to place a jack stand to secure your life.

Image
(4)-At this point we are going to check for any loose parts in the suspension. This is the time to find anything.

Image
(5)- For the first real task, we will need to remove the abs cable from the shock

Image
(6)- At this you will need the t25 Torx wrench specified above to remove the bolt holding down the brake pad wear indicator brake on driver side, Not on Passenger side

Image
(7)- At this point it is safe to disconnect the brake pad sensor. And place it to the side

Image
(8)- Right now is the time to break out the heavy tools. Use the impact to remove the 16mm bolt which connect sway bar link to the control arm.

Image
(9)-Move the sway bar out of the way to your heart desire. We disconnected on both side so the controls can pivot

Image
(10)- Use our favorite oem tool for the Axle bolts which is the 10mm triple square(automatic) 12mm for the 5 speed and 6 speed

Image
(11) Take your sniper type aim and connect the head to the bolt.

Image
Its tight, make sure your in completely so you don’t strip any parts

Image
(12)- Use our next cool oem tool, the knuckle spreader

Image
Get you 18mm Wrench and attach to the bolt connecting the shock to the spindle

Image
Hold the wrench and use the impact the remove the bolt

Image
By this time you can see the bolt is removing. And the oem tool is in the slot with ¼ of a turn which will spread the knuckle open to remove the nut

Image
(13) now the bolt is removed you can drop the spindle out of the shock, but remember to hold on to it and not let it stress the brake lines which can tear if it hangs

Image
(14)- Use a 21mm socket and the impact to remove the upper strut bolt, at this you should be holding on to the strut, after removing the bolt the strut will fall out.

Image
(15)- Time to anti seize the spring compressor

Image
(16)- now using the spring compressor attach around spring loops, and begin to compress the shock using the impact gun.

Image
(17) At this point you can now use a 21mm on the impact to remove the strut bearing nut.

Image
(18)- If the strut mount and bearing is in good working order you can transfer to the new suspensions

Image
(19) Your coilovers should come put together already from the box

Image
(20) Adjust coilover all the way down, then mark on the center line, to be able to count adjustments up evenly

Image
Mark the adjuster at the bottom point to count revolutions

Image
Anti seize

Image
(21)- apply anti seize to the threads

Image
(22) Placing strut bearing and mount on top

Image
(23)- Place the strut bearing first

Image
(24)- Place strut mount next

Image
(25)- Place Nut on to coil over

Image
(26)- 21mm Socket on impact to run nut down coilover

Image
(27) Adjust spring adjust and count at same time we chose 23 spins

Image

Image

Image
(28)- 21mm Socket holding the strut from bottom and strut cap on top and locking nut, and impact down

Image
(29) Get some wd-40

Image
(30) with knuckle still in place spray wd-40 on strut and insert to spindle.

Image
Example of the insertion
