Welcome
Welcome to the THREE.8.WERKS Forum. Login to access the message boards.

The 6th Annual eurothon is behind us. This event is all about a good time, seeing friends that you haven't seen since last season and catching up. There were the usual People's Choice Awards and the Dr. Ferdinand Porsche PROPER Award going to "Cosmic Bunny" Ivan.
Empire City Raceway and Casino played host to some of the sickest euros from the area and beyond. We're already lined up for 2010. Hope to see you there!

^ i know :(
wait till you see it in person. my tires won't allow me to go lower. i have poke, not tuck. don't want tuck. i want poke. to get poke it has to stay like this. i will only roll the fenders and lower it a little more in the front, and take out the perches in the back. At first we had it a little lower then Ruben's car in the front and i shred my front tire sidewall....so yeah, dont want that lol. back up it went.

hmm..i gotta say i'm not happy with them. I made the mistake of having them painted at separate times, and the paint doesn't match to my standards. I was supposed to go back with the covers on the car for them to buff everything, including the car, but just never had the time to make the trip...
I don't know if i even want to keep them red....
I feel the engine bay needs a tubro in there, not some plastic covers.....argh.

oh, i think you slipped little porkchop..... don't you know that "euro" never goes out of fashion? Euro-Look is absolutely timeless. HOWERVER, many butcher it.
And color matched engine covers is a OE touch reserved for highline trims. Just like color matched rub strips are reserved for highline trims out the box. Or color matched valences, same story for the most part within that model.

and you say you don't follow the rules....so why would you care what is in or out of fashion?

The ride handles like a dream. But the dampening is really tight so i bounce around a lot lol. Since I don't have the front sway any more, i don't mind the dampening at this setting, again, i looove how the car handles now.

PS. call Dan about your detailing.
PPS. i "hot rodded" my engine covers....it's so far from "euro" it's not even funny lol.

save the euro lesson.

as as for the rules: my car will be a mix mash of styles that a few years ago where definitely "not euro" and "not cool". and as for fashion, i'd rather do whats not in fashion anymore/yet, and do what i like, personalization and the attempt to be original before the sheep get to u. thats wat its about for me :D

damn, almost two months without an update. Well, that's in part because I've been busy with other things in life, yes. But mostly because I've been spending "alotta" money on maintenance for the GTI. Just picked up the car from Dynamic last week after replacing brakes, driver's axle, hub and bearing. Had the car for 5 days and I get a pinhole on the inner boot of the brand new axle spitting goo already. Defective part apparently and I'm going back this Friday to get it replaced again. Goddamn Driver's axles hate my car lol. But I have to say that Dynamic is quite the stand up company.
They found the right hub for my car because the VW parts dept unknowingly gave me the wrong hub so Drew did some searching and tracked the right one down. ECS also sent me the wrong rotors. Again. 3rd time ECS sends me the wrong stuff with orders over the phone. GRR. So Drew saved the day and ordered me the right ones.
When I picked up my car from them last Wed, I drove the car to work and noticed a decent vibration around tight right turns and at various speeds. Called Dynamic and told them I would bring it by Friday to check it out. They said they would sleep better if they found out right away what it was. So they drove to my job (from Warwick, NY to Fair Lawn, NJ!), brought tools with them, found the issue (tie rod loosened) and took care of it at my job. Talk about Customer Service. That's impressive to me.
Bad news? I need to do my timing chain sooner rather than later. With that comes a clutch upgrade though :D
Really bad news? Ive though about saying bye-bye to the GTI more times than I'd like to admit. 225 TT? hmm...

Maybe I'm just getting old lol
The other day I went out to dinner and bottomed out on uneven pavement. I mean, I seriously thought the oil pan was done. Pulled over, and it looked like it subframe instead. I VERY rarely bottom out because I'm not that low, but that really pissed me off.

I have a slight vibration still but it's from a wheel being unbalanced. The same effin wheel I had balanced at Waterfest.

(do you hear the violin? Because I do...and I'm whining big time LOL)

nauh, i was thinking more like TDI version, i wanted the V10 or the V8, but i wanna see the TDI, after 2010, i'll have no more payments for "DARKNESS" im dying to get a TDI or a a8/s8...
I heard there is not going to be a s8 model anymore, the last one is 2008... so i'll settle for the a8/TDI Touraeg
