Welcome
Welcome to the THREE.8.WERKS Forum. Login to access the message boards.

The 6th Annual eurothon is behind us. This event is all about a good time, seeing friends that you haven't seen since last season and catching up. There were the usual People's Choice Awards and the Dr. Ferdinand Porsche PROPER Award going to "Cosmic Bunny" Ivan.
Empire City Raceway and Casino played host to some of the sickest euros from the area and beyond. We're already lined up for 2010. Hope to see you there!

4 Months. That's it. 4 Months until Spring Show and Go. Until the Official Season Opener. Until 3.8.W. does shit proper all over again bishes.

So, partially to motivate myself, and partially to put things (by things I mean $$ needed to fund the projects) in perspective, I'm starting a new Season "Build Up".

Mostly in sequence:
    -100,000 mile maintenance
-Re-finish wheels. Re-do the gold rivets in gold.
    -Install B&Gs
-Install my Curpa R lip (depends if I end up liking it once it's on)
    -Install S3 Engine Covers
-New front axels (maybe raxels for lowed cars)
    -Recaro red/blak euro seats
    -Black headliner
    -Side mirrors, most likely stubbies
    -Color-match calipers
-Front bumper, fenders and hood painted (if I really need it)

-And finally, this completely depends on all of the above plus on the result of the compression ratio of my 12v, on mine and Vic's decision to get hitched next year or the following, and $$ funds. :D
-Staged Turbo between 325-350 WHP. Looking into Stage 3 Kinetic. And a matching clutch and if needed tranny.

Tania it sounds all good to me, but can you please talk to Tim about a turbo kit for your car it would be best. The reason why is the Kinetic kits are build around cheap parts.

lol...i know Tim knows his shit, but I'm sure Vic can answer my questions too lol.
There is a lot more to story you heard about Kinetic. Certain parts were JDM crap, and otheres weren't , they were garret, etc etc. Vic and I spoke to Clay a few WFs ago when they introduced the 12v turbo kit and right around then shit started to hit the fan about their reputaion of the parts, he still works there part time now. It's a long story but I can understand where you're coming from. Maybe I'll just get the turbo directly from Garret. Yeah, like I said I haven't decided yet.

I know Ed haha. And I appreciate it! It's jus Clay is a cool dude and he had to go through a lot of crap because Kinetic couldn't get thier shit right. If I got the stage 3, I would only be using a portion of the kinetic parts, i failed to elaborate. I just think it would be a little messed up if I went to anyone but Vic for Turbo advice since he's built his own. Sorry if I'm defensive. lol Forgive me!

Stubbies are in the states. Picking them up next month sometime, when i have the time for the trip.

Next: new battery, wires and plugs, serpentine belt, flush, coils and brakes. Take off S3s and put montes back on while the wheels get refinished. All of this will be done at the same time next month.

Stubbies......Nice. I always wanted to get stubbies but just think they're a little over-priced. Stubs would look great on ya ride T$....especially the whole Euro theme you got going on. Nice touch. :notworthy:

it is. 112500 miles.

It's still my original battery.
Never done a flush.
never replaced air filters or fuel filter
i did my wires 3 yrs ago, plugs 2 yrs ago

I just don't feel comfortable driving the car after the winter after its sitting on this old stuff for months. I rather start it up with clean parts.

I'm telling you, good gas really does make a difference. Plus, it was a lot of highway driving.

trade it? nevah! Maybe get another toy in a year or so....either a TT, or Boxter S.
I just saw my gti yesterday. Battery is dead as a door knob....I miss driving it!

I ordered all of the maintenance parts from my job and have the new battery sitting in Vic's garage.

Engine covers and stubby mirrors are finally heading to 6stars for paint.

Other than that it's just getting the car to jersey for the work.

Well, thanks to Ruben and Gen, (they let me borrow their charger) and my GTI was on the road again!! Boy...what a feeling. I took it for a nice long drive up the Sprain and back. I was planning to take it to work today but I got back to the car and the battery was dead again so I definitely need a new one. I ended up not charging it again since it was kind of ugly outside anyway...I took the supah-saturn. I'll try and bring the GTI on Wed night

you should get the front bumper strip w/o the euro plate recess. i think that would clean out the front alot.

also, i think its more my style then urs, but u ever considered doing textured rub strips all around to break up all that red?

^ you're crazy! you need to be schooled in the euro topic Bruno lol psshhhhh.

i LOVE the euro recess. For a varitey of reasons. is does break up the front so it's no so plain. and it BELONGS there. That's a true euro front end. in my opinion anyway.

i like textured strips on certain paint colors. DEF not mine. mine tends to look dirty when alot of black is near it. Very few have been able to pull it off.

Anyway, here are a few pics of progress. sorry for the bad quality pics:

First, thanks to Tim for doing the work, and also Greg too!
